28. Mother’s Day celebration ::: food, family, fun times ::: Brrr, again? ::: appreciating the little things.

I would like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to my mom! I had a very nice celebration with my family this weekend.

For my parents and aunt Linda & uncle Dean, it was a two-night, three-day celebration. For me, it was a one-night and two-day celebration. And then for my grandparents, great aunt Shirleyaunt Ruth, and cousins Julie, Larry and Kevin, it was for one day.

😀

I had a really fun time. It was lovely to get away from my normal routine for 24 hours. After work on Saturday, I just came back to the apartment, finished packing, and headed over to the campground! The only trouble I had while getting there was turning too soon before the correct road, and then the second time I missed the road. So, it took me three times to turn onto the correct final road.

Haha… and the punch line?
My dad was talking to me on the phone, giving me specific directions on where to turn on which streets… and I still missed it! Oh, how I think too much sometimes. 😀

Even though it was pretty chilly and sometimes rainy, it was stll a fun time. The sun did come out for a little bit from time to time, which made everyone forget about the rain. My parents had gotten a camper several months ago for my dad’s retirement. My dad recently retired (he was an air-traffic controller!), and my parents have already gone on a couple weekend getaways with my aunt Linda & uncle Dean (Linda is my dad’s sister). And I was so thankful to have joined them this time. Fun, fun. 🙂

On Saturday, everyone got there and was ready to eat around 4 o’clock or so. I was so happy that I wasn’t the last one there! It’s always nice to know that you’re not running late. Hehe.

We had hamburgers which were provided by aunt Linda and uncle Dean, cousin Larry’s homemade mac & cheese, and fruit cups provided by my parents. And coffee and bottled water. Everything was delicious! We also celebrated Mother’s Day, as well as my grandpa’s birthday.

Talking, talking... and more talking. :)

^__^ It was so nice to have a fire-roasted hamburger again... a nice break from my tiny, tiny stovetop at the apartment and from fast food!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

So…. funny story! When I was taking pictures of everyone in aunt Linda & uncle Dean’s motor home, I wasn’t really paying attention to how close to the door I was. And of course, when you go to the door, there’s a couple of stairs. And I sorta “fell in” and dropped my phone.
I’m okay though. My phone is okay.
And thankfully, I’m not hurt at all. Just another clumsy moment, brought to you by Rebecca. Haha. That would’ve been pretty humorous to have as a video clip!

After eating, great aunt Shirley, my grandparents, aunt Ruth, and cousin Julie all went home.

Then, my parents, aunt Linda/uncle Dean, Larry, Kevin and I… and of course, Ollie, all went for a walk as the sun was going down. We went up to the lake and the pier. So peaceful!
And… I got a little tiny bit of running every now and then in… just to get it out of my system. Hehe.

And then, cousins Larry and Kevin went home.

It was really nice seeing all this family, again. It had been a very long time!

This morning, we met up with Linda & Dean, again, for a brunch. Yum! Ham sandwiches, chips, macaroni and potato salads, and cookies.

Please excuse my belongings in the background!

And… I shall end this post with a moment captured with my mom and me at the end of the trip.

I love you, Mom!! :D
I love you, Mom!! 😀

I had a really good time even if it was a really short trip. I feel very relaxed now.

Next time it’s chilly outside though, I’ll be sure to pack some warmer clothes. 🙂
